As the Govt.of Karnataka has taken steps to include our Polytechnic under Grant-in-aid Code from this academic year, the admissions for the first year Diploma courses in Automobile Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering were made through centralized admissions at nodal centre, Karnataka Polytechnic, Mangalore from 7th July to 25th July 2007 with a reservation of 80% seats for meritorious students.

Admission Procedures :

Candidates seeking admission to the diploma course should obtain the prospectus and the applications by paying Rs. 225/- in cash at our Polytechnic office (The application and the prospectus can also be obtained by post by sending a DD in favor of The Principal , S. N. M. Polytechnic , Moodbidri for Rs. 250/-).

The candidate should fill up the application form with all necessary particulars. The application form along with one xerox copy of S.S.L.C. / Equivalent marks card should be submitted to The Principal , S. N. M. Polytechnic , Moodbidri, Post :Kodangallu -574 197.

Eligibility for admissions :

	For General: Pass in SSLC / Equivalent with 35% aggregate marks in Mathematics & Science.
	For SC/ST/Category I candidates of Karnataka : Pass in SSLC
	25% seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates.
	Applicants for Automobile Engg. must have completed 16 years as on 1st July.

Candidates seeking admission from other states :

Candidates who have passed examinations other than S. S. L. C( Karnataka) have to obtain eligibility certificate from the Secretary , Board of Technical Examination , Palace Road , Bangalore – 1 before being admitted to the courses. The Polytechnic will help the candidates to get eligibility certificate, if desired.

Candidates seeking admission from other states :

The orientation programmes were held from 2nd July 2007 to 5th July 2007 for the first year Diploma students. National level trainers Sri Rajendra Bhat, Sri Purushothama Ithal, and Sri Sadananda Navda were the resource persons. They delivered motivation addresses to the students on the opportunities to the diploma holders and on personality development. All the I year students attended this program.

Candidates seeking admission from other states :

	Transfer & Conduct Certificate (Original & 1 copy).
	Transfer & Conduct Certificate (Original & 1 copy).
	6 Photographs (3 Passport size + 3 stamp size)
	Five / Ten years study certificate (Between I Std. to X Standard) - Original & 1 copy
	Rural certificate duly countersigned by AEO / BEO - Original & 1 copy
	Caste Certificate issued by Tahsildar for SC/ST & Category I candidates (Original & 1 copy).
	Eligibility certificate - In case of students who have passed 10 std. or equivalent exams, ther than K.S.E.E. Board, Bangalore (Original & 1 copy). The candidates can contact the office for more details

Payment of fees

The annual fees for the course is Rs. 8400/-for Karnataka and Rs. 12900/- for non-Karnataka students. An additional amount of Rs. 1500/- will be collected as Book Bank & caution deposit during the time of admission, which will be refunded after the completion of the course.
